Yiğit Uygur was born in Izmir on the 20th September, 1966. He began taking pictures when he was nine years old with the camera that was a present from his photographer grandfather, Zühtü Gürhan. Yiğit didn't get along well with the education system, spent eight years in high school, didn't go on to further education. He chose not to be educated. Yiğit has been painting since childhood. He has opened 13 personal art exhibitions and taken part in installations and joint exhibitions. He no longer paints because of the mental pollution in the art world. Yiğit has developed himself on guitar, percussion and ideophonic instruments. He has created percussions and various other musical instruments. As a writer he has published poems and articles in various literature and travel magazines. He has worked as a radio director, news reader, editor, publishing director in several newspapers and magazines and as a columnist. He founded an agency and published a literature-art-opinions magazine. Yiğit has always participated in independent media. He has had many slide shows during his career as a photographer. In 2003, he started taking digital photographs. He has published articles on philosophy and sociology on various websites. Yiğit Uygur is currently working as a reporter, photo-journalist, and professional promotional photographer.

20 Eylül 1966'da İzmir'de doğdu. Fotoğraf çekmeye 9 yaşında kendisi de bir fotoğrafçı olan dedesi Zühtü Gürhan'ın hediye ettiği fotoğraf makinesiyle başladı. Eğitim sistemiyle çok barışık olmadığı için lise hayatı 8 yıl sürdü, üniversiteye gitmedi. Eğitilmemeyi tercih etti. Yine küçük yaşlarda başladığı resim sanatı çerçevesinde 13 sergi açtı; enstalasyon sergilerine ve karmalara katıldı. Resim sanatındakı mental kirlilik nedeniyle artık resim yapmıyor. Müzisyen kimliğiyle gitar, perküsyon ve ideofonik çalgılar üzerine kendini geliştirdi. Perküsyon ve çeşitli çalgılar üretti. Yazar kimliğiyle çeşitli edebiyat ve gezi dergilerinde şiir ve makaleleri yayınlandı. Radyo yöneticiliği, haber spikerliği, çeşitli gazete ve dergilerde genel yayın yönetmenliği, editörlük, köşe yazarlığı yaptı. Ajans kurdu ve yayıncılık yaptı, fikir - sanat ve edebiyat dergisi çikardı. Her zaman bağımsız medyada yer aldı. Fotoğraf yaşamı boyunca birçok dia gösterisi gerçeklestirdi. 2003 yılında dijital fotoğraf çekmeye başladı.
